Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a highly selective process to kill bacteria as well as virus by means of a low power laser and a photosensitizer (photosensitising agent). In-vitro experiments achieve a reduction of nearly 100% depending on the concentration of the photosensitizer and the wavelength of the soft laser. Photodynamic Therapy is successfully used in many different medical fields.
We use PDT to kill bacteria in periodontal pockets, in root canals and in deep decayed cavities.
